When I started setting up my personal website, I decided to use WordPress hosting. Mainly, this was because I didn’t have enough time to properly research and compare all the available options. I wanted to get started with the course and have my website ready without spending too much time deciding which platform or hosting service would be the best.
One of the things I considered was using Weglot, but I didn’t spend much time exploring it or its features. At this stage, I preferred to focus on getting the website running first and learning more about WordPress as I continued with the course.
Interestingly, I had more trouble editing my WordPress profile than setting up and working on the blog itself. I expected the blog to be the more complicated part, but some profile settings were less straightforward than I thought.
One thing I learned from this experience is that WordPress makes it relatively easy to get a website started without having to build everything from scratch. I still have a lot to learn, but this was a good first step to becoming more familiar with the platform and understanding the different options available for building a personal website.
